Using Prevention as a Cure

In today’s ultra-fast-paced and stress-filled world, taking time to focus on yourself, your health, and your well-being is very challenging and hard to accomplish. It is very easy to get caught up in our daily activities and pursuits, so we don’t fully appreciate that the first two letters in medicine are “me”. Understanding that your health and well-being start with you is the foundation of Sound Imaging Diagnostics’ philosophy of “Using Prevention as a Cure”.

When you focus on your health and well-being, everything you do with your healthcare provider creates an avenue for you to receive information and strategies to use to improve your health. Disseminating and managing this information can be a very confusing and daunting task but it is imperative that as a patient, you realize that this information is yours and that it is ultimately up to you to understand it, utilize it, and make it work for you.

Regardless of the test results and diagnoses, the ultrasound scan that you have undergone, represents a snapshot in time for the body part or system that you had scanned. Using the results empowers you to prevent disease, prevent its spread, or drastically reduce the effects of its progression. You must establish a baseline so you can track your progress and see how you are “Using Prevention as a Cure”, because, when you can prevent disease, there is no need for a cure.

Empowering patients is one of the tenets on which Sound Imaging Diagnostics is founded and one that is used profusely in its business model. It is Sound Imaging Diagnostics’ belief that the more information you have, the more information you can apply to your particular health care needs.
